Consultation
Dr. Cole is happy to provide consultations to: crime authors (nonfiction or fiction), law enforcement agencies outside of California, and/or to anyone who would like a second opinion on an ongoing case.
Profiles
Dr. Cole can provide written psychological profiles on unsolved cases directly to law enforcement agencies. With access to adequate records and details, a good profile can help narrow the field of suspects. Typical nondisclosure agreements apply.
Appearances
Dr. Cole has been a frequent guest on podcasts and has been featured in documentaries and on TV. She has participated in conventions and is available for public speaking engagements on a limited basis.
Trainings
Dr. Cole can provide expert training on sexual offender typologies and risk assessment. The training is geared toward decision-makers (parole, etc.), and others who must make well-informed decisions about public safety and the appropriate offender intervention.
Case Studies

Case Study A
The suspect’s offense is rooted in high sexualization and low socialization, and evidences details indicating an unplanned attack (opportunistic). It is likely that this individual has no prior violence in his record. Given the victim characteristics, and state of the scene, the offender is young, perhaps still a juvenile, or emotionally stunted to the extent that he seems quite immature for his age. He likely lives in a nearby apartment/complex, or is very familiar around the building (e.g. often visiting family/friends). He may have been known to the victim, at least casually.

Case Study B
This suspect’s offense is rooted in an enduring hatred toward women. He is experienced, and it is likely that he has committed prior similar crimes (e.g. “trial runs”) prior to the current offense. He is unlikely to have a romantic partner (or is in a state of relational turmoil), and his attack does not signify high sexualization. Rather, given the details of the crime, and amount of brutality enacted, it is likely that this event was motivated by a desire for power and control. It is unlikely that the victim knew her attacker, or that the attack was personal in nature.
